How to Make a Corpse Bride's Dress
Become a woman who's waited an eternity to marry her true love -- or who's recently come back to haunt him -- by creating a corpse bride costume. A corpse bride has probably been underground for a while, so think old and dirty when making your wedding dress - willdresses.com online. Accessories such as a bouquet of dead flowers can continue the haunting look.
Instructions
1. Find an old wedding dress that you can modify for your costume. Check out local thrift stores for used white gowns. Plain white slips with a little lace will work, too. This dress doesn't have to be in perfect condition -- in fact, it's better if it looks a bit worn. Just make sure it fits you comfortably.
2. Rip a few tears in the dress. Make a small opening in the fabric with scissors and pull the material apart. Be careful not to make the holes so big the dress falls apart. Consider tearing holes in the skirt of the dress, as well as on the arms and the back.
3. Make the dress look even more aged by using black spray paint. Hang the dress outside or in a well-ventilated area. When spraying, hold the paint far enough away from the gown that it doesn't make solid lines. Mist the paint in a light layer over the dress. Don't worry about making the paint look even; you still want most of the dress to be white. When it dries, this paint job will make it appear that the dress (and the wearer) just rose from the dirty ground.
4. Sprinkle the dress with white baby powder after you put it on for the party or event. Don't be afraid to get this fine dust on your hair and body, too. The baby powder will make the corpse bride dress(here.) look even older and dustier.
